Learn How To Become A Beta Gaming Testers!

Finally, a piece of good news.

I'm approved to become a game tester!

Well, this few days I was feeling kinda bored. I was hoping some kind of good news or rather some interesting things to do.

Okay, I could go out and go to the beach or something. I've been thinking of that. But, I'm kind of a lazy 'homy' person. And, been sometime, since I've been to the beach. Ha!

Anyway, finally. I got an email from a game publisher that I was chosen to beta test their game. A few  weeks before, I've already given up hope and forgotten about it. Heck, nothing seems to be going for me. So, I was browsing through my emails and reading one of it. I was actually going to delete it!

Then, I realized that, my application had actually been approved and I was able to go to their site and download the beta game!

I almost jump out of joy!

Okay, okay. Maybe, it's not really a big deal to you but I love new stuff and games. And, to be able to test out a totally new game when everyone else is just waiting for it to come out is like..oh, I don't know..the feeling of being in a gaming heaven? LoL!

I'm actually, still downloading the game and will only be able to play it tomorrow. But, I can't wait!

I've always dream of  having a beta game tester jobs. It's not really about video game tester salary. But, it's about the games. Don't you like to play out new games every other day or month?

I've read about people getting paid to beta test games. I wish, I had a job like that. Don't, we all gamers do?

I'm not really sure if I'm cut out to be that though. I kind of have a short attention span. I got tired and bored of doing things pretty fast. I've bought countless games and I seldom finish it all!

Although, since, I've got myself an xbox 360 and a PS3, I've manage to finish some of the games. My favorite kind of games are first person shooter games or FPS for short. Games, like COD, F.E.A.R, GOW, Battlefield etc.

I like strategy and rpg games too. That's, the type of game I'm going to beta test, soon!

Oh yeah, next year 2011 is going to be a heck of a year for gamers!

A lot of new shooter games coming out!

I can't freaking wait!

I've been looking at a few sites lately on the subject matter and found this site. Seems, kind of interesting. It might be of interest to you, if you're looking for a game tester career. Don't we all, huh?

Technical Details

This eCourse is meant to be used by registered Apple iOS developers (you can sign up on the Apple website). Some of the technology discussed on the eCourse may be considered confidential so you must agree to the conditions that you agreed to follow when you signed up with Apple.

Requirements

To use the website you must have Safari or Google Chrome installed. Both of these browsers are free and you may use other browsers but if you choose to do this you will need to make some adjustments when viewing your videos.

To develop iOS apps you must use a Mac with a version of XCode installed. The version of XCode used in the demos is Developer Preview version 4 and the best thing to do is install this version of XCode on to your Mac. You cannot use Windows or Linux to develop iOS apps.

The content assumes that you have a background in programming at some level. Preferably an object-oriented programming like C# or Java is what you know. But, if you can do simple things like make webpages and use JavaScript and you are generally technically minded then you should be able to learn enough about programming in our Objective-C lesson to move on.

Okay, okay. The world is in turmoil right now. Everybody is on edge and money is a concern nowadays. What with the U.S. banks going bankrupt or maybe soon the U.S. itself is going bankrupt?

Billions of dollars being spend on the never ending "war on terror". Baaahhh humbug! Could this be the work of the 'economic terrorist' you say?

Definitely not! It's the work of 'investor terrorism'!

Well, anyway. I'm not going to talk about the war on the economic front today. I'm not the expert on world economics. But, I'm going to recommend you some cool and anger-venting-first-person-shooter (shoot the wall streets financial adviser?) games. You can play it online or offline in a multiplayer set-up. And best of all? It's totally FREE!

Last week, my sis let me keep her brand new Dell pc with the core 2 duo processor. So, of course, I search the whole of the internet to see if I can find any free FPS shooter game to download and play!

I found a couple and boy, now, I'm hook!

Note: Some of these games I like because, I was able to download it quite fast and also having no problem playing it. The pc I'm using is Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2200 @2.20GHz 1.18GHz, 1.96GB of RAM. So, if you can't play it, don't blame me and maybe you need a new pc? He he!

Here's a list of my favorite FREE FPS single/multiplayer shooter games:

1. F.E.A.R Combat Multiplayer - My TOP free favorite first-person-shooter game! I like F.E.A.R multiplayer because it's free, it's fast and it's addicting! Download it, install and play. Doesn't get easier then that. By the way, the graphics and sound is like scary ambient. It's a great experience.
   
2. AssaultCube - A fast and fun first-person-shooter. I like cube and Assault cube. As always, because it's free and fun. It got single player and also multiplayer. They have lots of players and servers.
3. Cube Engine Games - Click to go to this main Cube website and from there you can download Cube, Cube 2, AssaultCube. All the games are based on the Cube Engine. Don't worry it's free and fast to download. You'll be up playing in no time!
4. Warsow - Another great free FPS. The graphic is a little cartoonist and freaking' bright orange and purple! But hey, as long as it's free and fast to download and play? Check it out!
5. Netuiz.com - A free open-source first person shooter. It's fast, immense, intense and did I already said it's free? Click the link to go to the main website and check out the graphics, videos and much more!
6. AlienArena - Shoot Alien in this fun multiplayer first person shooter. You can play it online and offline too. Great fun! Check out the site for more info eh?
7. Quakeunity.com - On this site you can download Urban Terror 4.1 FULL (.EXE). I just freakin love this game. The graphics are superb and the gameplay are fast and furious. If you haven't try it out yet then visit site to download. Can be a bit slow to download but worth the wait!
   
8. idsoftware.com - The maker of Quake and other FPS which also includes Quake Arena Demo. So far, I've download Quake Arena, Quake 4 multiplayer demo (latest) and able to play the single/multiplayer online/offline Death match (DM) games. It's still load of fun though. Click to visit main site.

Of course, there's more out there but, for now, these are some of the free fps shooters that I manage to download and play online and offline. There's a few that I didn't download or did download but, for some stupid reason I can't play it. So for the moment, if you haven't heard or played these games yet then shoot away!

So,..it's 6am in the morning and I wanted to continue sleeping. But, heck, I sure need to pee. So, I drag my sleepy ass to the toilet and settled my business there and went back straight to bed after that.

I rest my head on my comfy pillow and lo and behold, my brain can't seem to fall asleep again. Stupid brain..

Suddenly, my brain felt like doing some calculating. Hmmm.. so, if my monthly budgets which include basics and personal utilities bills amount to $400 x 12 mth x 20 yrs = $96000. And, I still have $4000 to spare.

Then again, I realized that, I had make a mistake. Cause, I had rounded up $400 x 12 = $4800 to $5000. You see, I was thinking bout the extra $200 which I had calculated $200 x 12mth x 20 yrs = $48,000.

So, ermm.. the amount that I actually needed would have been $96000 + 48000 = $144000.

For your info, the money is all in SGD $$ and not in US$$ currency and I've actually been forking out $400/mth for a while now. Spending, some of my paycheck on games, doing some renovating on my house and of course foods. The rest I keep it in my banks. Several banks in fact.

Okay, let's summarize. With, just $100,000 for 20 years and if I don't go overboard by adding up or my basic utilities going up through the years then it's realistically possible!

Also, with just savings of $200/mth x 12 x 20 = $48,000. That $48k is purely my extra pocket money. I can do whatever I want with it like buying games, eating outside or maybe just keep it in the bank and let the interest do the work for me.

All this, is just a minimum requirement of my living adult life. I'm already 38 and in another 20 yrs, I'll be 58. Almost, a nice retirement age. Of course, if I had that $144k now, I'll already be on my way. LoL!

Budgeting and saving money been in my thoughts for awhile. It's all about implementing and with careful planning and a clear view of my daily budgets for the next 20 years it's pretty clear I won't have to worry about money for a loOOoonggg time ..haha!

All, I have to do now is earn and save up to $144,000 and I'm set for the rest of my life. It depends on how fast I can earn that amount and if I actually want to stop working after that and do what I want in life?

Even, if I keep working then having a set amount of money put aside is definitely a life-saver.

Of course, for my case, putting aside that I'm not married with children or that I have actually finish paying off my house mortgage does make it a little easier. Even, if I'm married with children or something out of my control happen then I don't have to worry bout my daily basic bills. Remember, I only need $96000 to cover my cost.

My point is, if you have a clear view of what you need and want to do then it's definitely a load off our mind.

I've been telling people that I'm in a semi-retired mode for awhile now and it's not because I've struck the lottery but, because I know my current financial status. Add, to that, that I have finish paying off my home loans and I'm definitely half-way there. It doesn't really matter what kind of job that I'm doing right now, simply because I know if the pay is over $400 - 600 then, it's fine by me.

Of course, it doesn't mean that I have to work in a shitty job with shitty pay but, you get what I mean?

Knowing, what I need to know, financially means, I can actually choose any kind of job I want as long as the pay is beyond the $400-600. I can then do whatever I want with the rest of my money. I can save part of it in the bank minimum of $50-200/mth. Maybe, go for a holiday, buy my games or just save it. I don't really go out much and although, I'll love to go for a holiday somewhere nice, but the thing is I'm too lazy. But, who knows right?

So, I got the idea of making this video around 3am in the morning. I, was planning to sleep after watching the Mystery Quest show on History Chanel but half-way through, I was in la-la land. So, it end up the Tv watching me instead. LoL!

After, switching off the Tv, I went back to sleep again, only to later, waking up around 3am and couldn't sleep again. Bahh ..been having problem sleeping lately. My body clock is all over the place.

By the way, heard the news bout NASA finding 'alien' life yesterday?

Ya, right. I was hoping that they might had finally, actually did. But, nope. They had to bring us on before making the announcement that the 'alien' was some kind of new bacteria that lives off arsenic they found in California's mono lake. Great.

It, actually did kinda open up all new can of worms though. Maybe, life can find a way to survive in any kind of environment or worlds!

Frankly, I've never actually thought of backing up my games before but thinking about it, is actually a good idea since we pay so much for our original. Unless, you're just renting or borrowing from friends etc.
